Going to the gym, especially after a long day at work, requires an enormous amount of motivation. If you have a busy schedule that keeps you from working out, try to get some form of physical activity in your day, be it choosing the stairs instead of the elevator or going out for a short walk.

#2: Eat greener and healthier

Unhealthy, greasy, high-calorie food is one of the biggest adversaries of good health. So if you’re the kind of person that likes to eat fast food most days of the week, it’s time to reassess the choices you make for your plate. Instead, include a greater portion of fruits and vegetables, cut back on the carbs and sugar, and watch your health improve.

#3: Indulge in stress-relieving behaviours

Anxiety and stress are some of the most underrated causes of poor health. So it’s important to take some time out of your busy workday for meditation, yoga or any similar stress-relieving activity. Of course, if you’re in a time crunch, deep breaths can work wonders as well!

#4: Don’t skimp on your sleep

It can be tempting to pull an all-nighter to complete a project or binge-watch a TV show you love, but a lack of sleep can actually be detrimental to your wellbeing. So it’s important to regulate your circadian rhythm and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night for a refreshed and healthier mind and body.

#5: Don’t ignore your regular check-ups

Keeping up with your regular doctor’s appointments is pertinent for good health all through the year. For example, if you’re due for a pap smear test, a mammogram, or just a routine blood test, get it done ASAP so that you can keep tabs on your health.

#6: Take your vitamins

Many women suffer from iron deficiency which can easily be managed by taking supplements. Similarly, some women may be deficient in folic acid, vitamin D, or other nutrients that can wear them down.
